How Much to Charge for a Reel with 10,000 followers in India
Every published rate card disagrees. Here is what each one actually says, who wrote it, and what they sell — so you can judge the number instead of trusting it.
What the published sources say
Instagram Reel rate for a creator in the micro tier. Each row is one source, quoted as published. Nothing here is averaged.
| Source | What they sell | Band used | Published range |
|---|---|---|---|
| IdentityKit | Influencer marketing agency | 10K–100K followers | ₹5,000 – ₹75,000 |
| upGrowth | Digital marketing agency | 10K–100K followers | ₹8,000 – ₹80,000 |
| TickTime Media | Influencer marketing agency | 10K–100K followers | ₹8,000 – ₹75,000 |
The floors differ by ₹3,000. The ceilings differ by a factor of 1.1. All three group 10K–100K followers into one band, so the top of every range describes a creator many times your size.
None of these sources publishes a sample you could audit. Two of the three claim “300+ collaborations” as their basis, which is a count rather than a method. All three sell influencer marketing, which means the published number and what they charge clients are not independent of each other.
We are not going to average them into a fourth number and present it as ours. Here is the full explanation of why Indian rate data is like this, including what to do instead.
Negotiating at 10,000 followers
Ten thousand followers is the entry point of the micro tier, and it is where the published ranges become least useful to you. Every source above lumps 10,000 and 100,000 followers into one band — so the top of each range describes a creator with ten times your audience, not you. Read the floor, not the ceiling. In practice a creator at this size is negotiating against the bottom third of every range on this page, and the way out of that is not a bigger follower count but a better argument: your engagement rate against the category average, your saves, the fact that your audience is buying in the niche the brand sells into.
Pricing a Reel specifically
The Reel is the default unit of Indian brand work, and it is what nearly every published rate card prices first. That makes it the easiest deliverable to benchmark and the easiest to underprice, because a brand asking for "just one Reel" is usually also assuming Stories to support it, a repost to their own handle, and a window in which they can run it as an ad. None of those are the Reel. Price the Reel, then price each of the others as its own line. The one number a brand will quote back at you later is the one you gave for the Reel alone, so make sure that number covers only the Reel.
What to do with a range this wide
Ask the brand for their budget before you quote. This matters more in India than in a market with reliable benchmarks, because you have no defensible reference number to anchor against — but the brand almost always has a range already approved. Finding out what it is beats guessing inside a spread this wide.
Then price the content and the rights separately. Indian usage-rights premiums are the one part of this market that is well documented: industry figures reported in September 2026 put 30 days of paid amplification at 20–40% over the base fee, rising to 100–200% or more for perpetual use. Those percentages apply to whatever base rate you land on, so they are useful to you even while the base itself is uncertain. An itemised rate card makes that split the default.
And log what you were actually paid. Your own last six deals are better evidence of your market rate than any table on this page — and they are the only data nobody else has.
Frequently asked questions
- Why do the ranges for 10,000 followers go up to ₹75,000?
- Because every source groups 10,000 to 100,000 followers into a single "micro" band, so the top of the range describes a creator ten times your size. At 10,000 followers you are realistically negotiating in the lower third of these figures, and the ceiling is not a number to quote.
- Should I charge extra for Stories alongside a Reel?
- Yes, and price them separately rather than folding them in. A Reel plus three Story frames is two deliverables, and published Indian package rates are consistently higher than the Reel-only rate for exactly that reason. Bundling them hides the concession you could have traded later.
- Why does this page not give me one number?
- Because any single number would be invented. India has no equivalent of the payments companies that publish real payout data for the US market, so every published figure traces back to an agency describing its own deal flow. Showing you the spread and who produced it is the honest version, and it tells you more than a fourth invented average would.
